Training Both Ends of the Leash

I use a balanced training methodology that combines positive reinforcement with clear, consistent corrections, including prong collar guidance and low-level e-collar stimulation. This approach promotes clear communication, builds trust, and creates reliable obedience.

By pairing precise physical cues with consistent remote reinforcement, I help dogs understand what is expected of them even from a distance. The goal is a well-trained, confident dog who responds reliably in a variety of situations.

How I Train

Two dogs, a black Labrador and a golden retriever, playing on a sidewalk in front of parked cars, with people visible in the background.
A dog and a person on a playground slide. The dog is positioned at the top of the slide, looking directly at the camera. The person is standing behind the slide, smiling and wearing sunglasses.

How My Dog Training Programs Work

My process begins with a free in-home evaluation to assess your dog’s specific needs and determine the optimal training structure. Based on this assessment, I will design a customized program tailored to your goals.

Training sessions are initially conducted at your home with you participating. Training you, the handler, is just as important as training your dog. When you and your dog need a challenge we move to real-world environments, such as parks and local dog friendly businesses, to ensure your dog learns to listen around greater distractions.

Consistency is the cornerstone of a well-trained dog; a routine of just 10 minutes of daily practice will yield significant, long-term results. You will find these focused sessions to be remarkably effective and easily integrated into your daily routine.

The bond you and your dog will develop is like nothing else and you will look forward to your training sessions
